From conception to final product, they truly grasp what a client is going for and not only bring it to life, but elevate it in ways unimaginable. I've had the pleasure to work with both Julie and Lori on various projects, each handled with pleasure and grace. They are communicative, collaborative, creative, and inclusive of all design styles. Unlike most designers Lori knows construction and what's going on behind the walls so her designs are considerate of construction costs. Unlike most designers Lori designs to the homeowners taste and design aesthetic, not her own, or what is trendy. She wants her designs and material selections to reflect her client and their lives, loves, interests. None of her projects are exactly alike. She has an amazing showroom that helps educate clients on styles and finishes so they feel confident in their decisions without any regrets. Our decision to work with Lori and her team was one of the best we've made in years! Lori is passionate about the work she does and her enthusiasm is contagious. Her professionalism and skills as a designer are unmatched. The best part is in the details; Lori makes it a priority to get to know her clients and understand their style, needs and budget and consequently creates a unique vision for each project she takes on. She works with the best contractors, all of whom she has long established relationships with. She is in constant contact with contractors while work is being done, and nothing is signed off on without her approval. That greatly reduces the stress of any project! We were fortunate enough to work with Julie Hoffman of J&L interiors and her team throughout the entire two year process of designing and building our new home in Hamilton VA, and we thanked our lucky stars to have her expertise and input every step of the way. Julie came highly recommended by our builder Alair Homes Hunt Country (formerly Matthew Bowe Design Build), originally to help with cabinet plans and the design selections necessary for a new home build. She helped make what was often a stressful experience go smoothly, always taking the time to make sure we understood decisions and processes that were altogether new to us as first time homeowners. In fact, one of the things we appreciated most about working with Julie was how thorough her work was, and how ready she was to step in with our builder, architect, or other vendors. She often picked up on things we wouldn't have even known to look out for, which made us feel like we had an advocate throughout the process.

Working with Julie during the first phase of building was so successful--and enjoyable!--that we were eager to work with her to choose our furniture and other decorative finishes as well. So much of interior design can feel so "cookie cutter," but Julie brings a really individual style to her work, and more importantly a real willingness to work with her clients' style and vision. She was able to incorporate antique family pieces we already owned with new modern designs in a way that flows beautifully. We felt listened to and inspired throughout all of our work with Julie, and are now lucky enough to be living in a home that feels just to our taste, but somehow even better.

We would work with Julie again in a heartbeat, for any design change or project in our home, and can't recommend her strongly enough.

Lori and her phenomenal team at J&L Interiors did an amazing job for us on three different properties. We built a new home and engaged Lori and her team as we were finishing plans with our builder and architect. Lori worked closely with us to help develop layouts, choose furniture, materials, rugs, lamps, window coverings, etc. They made a super-complicated process incredibly simple and seamless. Whether we were ordering a new couch or picking out tiles, Lori was always there. The design team also helped acquire a stunning new custom table, advised on the selection of the perfect wood, received all of our furniture, managed returns and Set up things beautifully even when we could not be there. We could write a whole book as to why we chose J&L to complete 3 very different properties for us. We cannot recommend Lori and the J&L Team enough. Thank you for making our house a HOME.
