Like another reviewer, I hired Jane almost two years ago and ended up losing my money. It started off well enough, but I should have known things would get tricky when I gave her feedback on the first design and she told me she could not discuss it with me until some days later because she was so busy. I understood, but that became the way of things: communication was a thing. Later, I was always reminded of how much time she has already put in the project. It then took her almost a year to find a contractor. And even then, when it was almost time for things to finally happen, when I had to organize my schedule around packing up my kitchen and co-ordinating with a buyer who wanted my old butcher block, it was almost impossible to know what was happening. And my request to be more in the loop was met with a testy text and a subsequent call saying its too stressful for her to keep me posted as things progress or don't progress. I had no choice but to walk away from all the money I paid her and start from scratch with another company. Thankfully, that other experience was exactly what I wanted: smooth, professional, and timely. My recommendation is to save yourself the trouble -- unless things with her have changed since spring 2017.

Jane is an excellent designer and project coordinator. She undertook the renovation and decoration of our apartment a few years ago, and is still in touch today to follow up on how things worked out.

Jane offered an ideal balance of her own ideas and receptivity to ours. The result was a mix of both that every visitor complements. In addition, she did all the "heavy lifting" of dealing with suppliers, workmen and others to make the renovation and deliveries as anxiety-free as possible for us.

A recent problem with a piece of furniture could have turned into a big-money solution but Jane recalled that it has a lifetime warranty and foreced the store to honor the warranty and repair the defect. You don't find this level of commitment to clients with many service-providers these days but Jane provides it.

Jane came into our lives when we purchased a new condo and had hand me down furniture from college days, no sense of what we liked, no sense of what would work and no sense of how to proceed. She helped us make a cozy home and was incredibly patient and persistent as we worked to find things that suited us both. She "got us" when we didn't even know who we were style wise.

Horrible rip off. I knew I was in trouble when Jane said "My therapist says I should charge you more money"--though that could have been worked out via her contract. Instead she quit before the job was even half done; at that point she had become so erratic and nasty when I questioned her designs, there was no point in trying to enforce the contract terms. But foolish me to have paid her fee up front.
