might be the worst store in the neighborhood. Always an issue, price is higher then posted, bags are not provided even if I'm ok to pay for it, arguing about laws that don't exist, and just in general very rude

Okay selection. Very expensive. $28 for an 8pk of hard seltzer. The guy doesn't seem friendly. Frankly, I don't know why people go here. Probably solely for convenience. Popular stuff seems to have really high prices.

The people who work here are rude, belligerent, and not aware of their obligations and responsibilities. Example: they try to charge you more than what their price sticker says without explanation, then, when pressed, they tell you they put the wrong price on it. Meanwhile, the beer prices are awful (you'll pay about 20% more here than in surrounding stores). Good selection, yes, but a one star review is still too good for the experience of being in here. Ugh.

This place has been charging a 25 cent "bag tax" for well over a year claiming that the city of Chicago was to blame. The clerk screamed at me when I commented that there was no such thing as a 25 cent bag tax. This of course was a complete lie considering the bag tax just went through, and it's only 7 cents. They also dramatically overcharge for all of their products. It's so much easier to just be nice and fair to your customers rather than make every interaction difficult.

I walked in the store & ask the cashier about a Jameson bottle & the size. He kind of got upset & responded in Arabic under his breath. Which I completely understood what he said & it wasn’t nothing nice to say. I purchase the bottle & told him him thank you friend in Arabic but never ever again going to walk in that liquor again. FYI I am not Arabian.

I cannot respect any business that will allow an uneducated employee to retain a bill only on the suspicion it is counterfeit without a reason for thinking so. Or any employee or manager that allows pride to inhibit good judgement and wise practices. The cashier who took my bill never said I would get it back if it was real until I returned to the store insisting on checking the security features. The manager refused to admit his employee made a mistake and did not outline a plan to ensure it didn't happen again. This is a scam at its finest. It's a long account even when abbreviated, but it deserves to be told.

I went in to buy a bottle of wine after driving from a late-night shift in Glencoe. The cashier takes my hard-earned $20 I was tipped and immediately begins analyzing it, holding it to the light, feeling the paper. He then concludes it is a fake based on the quality of the paper. Aghast, I ask if he has a pen to double-check, and he says he doesn't believe in those pens, saying they're unreliable, that he has encountered enough counterfeit currency to know just from the feel. He waves the example fakes they have at the register and refuses to let me see them to compare them to my bill. He doesn't even compare my bill to their example counterfeit. Tired from my shift and not remembering the security checks for a $20 or wanting to encounter the police, I pay credit and leave.

After unwinding from work, I look up the security features and go back to request another look at the bill. He says it's too late, he already zipped it up for the bank to take. I ask what security features he saw that weren't there, he says he can't tell me, it's illegal according to the Illinois Liquor Commission. I ask to see where it says this and he avoids the question. Only after much insisting on my part does he say if it's real when the bank checks it *WITH A PEN* the next day, he will save it for me to retrieve.

I call the next day, and the cashier says the bank declared it a legit $20. I go in, retrieve the bill and ask to talk to the manager. He comes out and listens to my account, says he respects me and apologizes for my experience. I thank him for the apology but ask what he will do to prevent this negative experience from happening in the future and preventing the illegitimate ransom of hard-earned money. He says there is no way for his employees to accurately analyze all the ways a bill can be counterfeit. I stress that all I want to feel this is remedied is for him to educate his employees on the security features of a bill so that no one else has to go through this experience. He refuses to do this, constantly giving excuses for his employee and himself. He shows me the example of a fake $20 they have on hand. It is so obviously counterfeit. After a while he excuses me without remedying the issue. I will never shop here again!

I will never ever shop here. It's 10 degrees outside and I parked by the closed byline bank. I am sick and pregnant and left the parking lot for two minutes, with plenty of available parking in the lot. This company pays a private booting company called Innovative Parking Solutions LLC to sit idle in their vehicle and watch people leave the lot and then boots them immediately. It costs $140 to remove it. This is the most immoral business practice I have ever witnessed. I am a small business owner as well, and I would never treat neighbors this way. I did not notice the signs of course, but when you are pregnant and desperate to not vomit it's pretty tough to pay attention to your surroundings. I'm appalled by this practice.
