Abode Interiors transformed my living, dining, bedroom and kitchen spaces into a modern, stylish, and functional bachelor pad. One of the best outcomes from this experience was their ability to design custom furniture and integrate the latest home technology into my humble abode. This experience opened my eyes to the power of creative interior design and how transformative it can be. I’m very pleased with my new NYC living space and I highly recommend this firm.

Faced with a California-based home office space that needed a change and a lack of satisfaction with the local designer profiles and offerings in the San Francisco area, I took the leap and secured a virtual, long-distance interior design service with Abode Interiors. To my surprise, however, there was no leap because Mercedes Kerrison and her dynamo team walked me through every step of the redesign process and I couldn't be happier with the results. We spoke at length about palettes and mood board inspiration, just as much as we did sustainability and function. Mercedes is a remarkable thought partner and asset. It was quickly made clear that Mercedes has cultivated a decades-long expertise in artistic styling, material design, product sourcing, residential contracting work plans, and fair transparent pricing for custom work.

Abode covers EVERY base. Following a very educational consultation, we moved forward with my uploading photos and measurements of the room. From there, she created an entirely original design plan that included realistic pricing projections and an execution timeline. Even operating 3 hours ahead of time from New York, Mercedes identified and vetted all of the contractors who worked on the redesign (e.g., carpenters, painters, and electricians) and coordinated all the invoicing, ordering, delivery expectations, and installation planning. All I had to do was tell her my schedule and she took it from there. I never once felt like I was short-changed or “missing out” on the full custom interior design experience. Furthermore, given my reservations about COVID exposure at the time, I rather liked having one less person coming and going in the house.

I’m still blown away by the gorgeous 3D renderings her team created and brought to life – it’s so reassuring to see how a room in your home will evolve with the support of a gifted professional. The virtual design tools she used allowed me to see how different furniture and decor options would look in the space before committing to anything. Suffice it to say that Abode delivered on every promise. Mercedes captured my style preferences and made suggestions that I never would have thought of on my own. For example, a low-sheen subtle gold spray-painted ceiling is a whole new level of classy/chic/playful I could never have imagined. Seriously, so many elements of the room feature that *you can’t quite put your finger on why this is perfect* kind of stunning. Because she thinks of everything and works to accommodate her clients’ needs, Mercedes even identified high-quality paints from Clare, in part because I told her that traditional paint fumes aggravate my asthma.

I highly recommend using Abode’s virtual interior design service for anyone looking to refresh their living space via a remote or long-distance capacity. Despite never setting foot on the property during this project, Mercedes did her research and offered strategic design choices that will boost my home’s resale value. Mercedes is so warm and loving with children and animals, too, that my family loved interacting with her via zoom. Working with Abode is an all-around outstanding investment made with an exceptional firm. We’re already locked in for much larger kitchen and bathroom renovation plans and can’t wait to work with Abode again. Rather than settling, hesitating, and remaining stuck, I found Abode and I’m never looking back!

Mercedes is the best of the best. She is organized, clear, thoughtful, and has an amazing eye. We have an odd layout and the direction and ideas she provided were beyond anything we could have dreamed of. We are in love with our space, as is everyone who visits. Mercedes listened to our style preferences throughout the entire process while also pushing our design comfort zones. To top it off, she’s just an extraordinarily lovely person to be around.
